Hey, guys! This thread outlines the screenshare policy for MCCentral and how staff members will conduct screenshares. The content of this thread is to be followed if frozen or asked for a screenshare by a member of the staff team. Failure to comply with the content of this thread will result in punishments depending on the policy you have violated.
Screenshares allow for staff members to check a suspected user's computer for any cheats they may have potentially been using on Minecraft Central at the time of conducting the screenshare. You can only be screenshared by a member of the staff team if they suspect you of cheating at the time. A staff member can't come out of anywhere not seeing you fighting at that time and screenshare. Also, a player cannot forcefully screenshare you as well as not use the screenshare policy against you as they are not a staff member.
During a screenshare, the staff member conducting it will be utilizing different tools and methods to see if there are any illegal modifications, clients, macros, external software, etc. that does or may give you an unfair and illegal advantage on the server. The screenshare tools a staff member may use are 100% safe and no member of our staff team would ever intentionally or unintentionally send a virus to any member of the community. If something happens otherwise then you may submit a report on that matter with sufficient evidence. If illegal modifications, clients, macros, external software, etc. is found you'll be further investigated into seeing if the illegal modification, client, macro(s), external software, etc. on your computer was used at the time of playing on MCC. If it was then you'll be banned depending on the severity of the evidence found. If the screenshare concludes and no hacks were used on MCC at the time, then you won't be banned.
You are allowed to record screenshares if you want to. You may upload a video of the screenshare if you feel like the staff member has broken rules or acted wrongly during the screenshare. You are not allowed to upload the video "just for fun", or with no proper reason. If you do so, you can be banned for Obstruction of Server, which is a Severity 2 Gameplay Offense.
During a screenshare, there are different mandates that the administrative team has put in place for screenshares to be conducted properly, efficiently, and securely by the staff team. Again not following these mandates will result in punishments. You can read more regarding the mandates in place below:
- Hacked Client Found In Screenshare - 30 Day Ban [Client Modification Severity 3 | First Offense]
- Refusal to Screenshare - 30 Day Ban [Client Modification Severity Three | First Offense]
- Logging Out While Frozen/Asked To Screenshare - 30 Day Ban [Client Modification Severity Three | First Offense]
- Failure to Comply In Screenshare - 30 Day Ban [Client Modification Severity Three | First Offense]
- Modifying Recycle Bin While Frozen - 30 Day Ban [Client Modification Severity Three | First Offense]
- XRay Found In Screenshare - 30 Day Ban [Client Modification Severity Three | First Offense]
- Auto Clicker Found In Screenshare* - 7 Day Ban [Client Modification Severity Two | First Offense]
- Macros Found In Screenshare* - 7 Day Ban [Client Modification Severity Two | First Offense]
* If a staff member finds this in the screenshare they will continue the screenshare until they feel the evidence at hand is sufficient enough to continue with the punishment on what they initially found.
Now, most times (on sub-servers) a screenshare will begin when you are "frozen". When this happens a GUI pops up that you can't close out of. You can't be hit, hit anyone or move around at all. In the GUI there are instructions you can read by hovering over the book at the bottom middle of the GUI. Here you will see what will happen if you were to log out when you should get on Discord and the invite link to our Discord server. If you don't have the desktop app or aren't registered on Discord then you may easily do so at https://discordapp.com/register You may either use the desktop version or web version of Discord.
Discord is where we conduct screenshares for now on. The other half is using an easy software called "AnyDesk". It's super easy to use and get running (much more efficient than join.me) and screenshares can begin much faster with the use of this new software. Once the staff member is connected to your AnyDesk session the screenshare may move from Discord to AnyDesk as there are voice features built in. But this is completely up to the staff member. Regardless, you must join the Discord server before the screenshare can initiate. Please join the Screenshare Waiting Room channel and the staff member who froze you will move you into a Screenshare Room. From there the rest of the screenshare will take place.
If you have any overall questions about this thread then please comment below and either myself or a member of the staff team will get back to you on it. As always have a great day!
