Nether Island
Implementing the Nether into Skyblock has long been a dream of ours. This upcoming season we have gone above and beyond to deliver exactly this! Islands will unlock access to this new dimension upon levelling their overworld island up to level 100. This nether island is a vital part of the gameplay, and home to many unique and custom features (such as lava fishing, robots, personal mining generators and of course the heart of it all - your islands power generator which must be fueled with souls by slaughtering Power Phantoms). More detailed information on these Nether Island features are listed below in this changelog.

The Power Generator is the heart of your Nether Island which now plays a vital role in the Skyblock gameplay. Players can provide fuel to their generator by slaughtering the Power Phantoms which surround it. Killing phantoms will result in the generator absorbing their souls as fuel. Keeping your power generator running will grant your island with awesome buffs such as Increased spawner efficiency on your overworld island. Keeping your power generator fueled is also a necessity to supply power to the new 'Robots' and 'Mining Generators', both of which are located on your Nether Island (more information on these below). It is in your best interest to keep this generator running as much as possible for the most efficient island possible. Imagine trying to live your life without the convenience of power!

2 seasons ago we introduced Mining Generators to our Skyblock server. Mining generators are the alternative way for players to obtain blocks (for those who wish to put in the work themselves rather than purchasing directly from the shop). In the past, these generators have been a public shared warp. As of this upcoming season, these generators have now found a brand new home on your very own island! Thats right, every islands nether world will now have their own private mining generators to obtain blocks from (so no more dealing with other pesky players stealing your ores). Do note: These generators will only function if your power generator has fuel in it!

For those who play Skyblock competitively, this feature is definitely one you will love! Located inside your islands nether world is a secure place to store your Emerald Blocks. Previously the main way to level up your Skyblock island was by placing Emerald Blocks. Not only was this an extremely time consuming process, it was a very ugly one as well! It tore our hearts to see players rip apart their beautiful islands in order to place stacks of Emerald Blocks for island levels. Emerald Blocks can be deposited directly into the Emerald Vault which will then count towards your Island Value and Island Level. Placing thousands of blocks is now a thing of the past with this convenient new feature!

Skills are a brand new addition this upcoming season of Skyblock. Skills are a personal statistic which players can now grind. As of next season we will have 4 available skills for players to progress through: Farming, Fishing, Mining and Slayer. Each skill comes with its very own unique ability to assist you through your Skyblock adventure. Progress your skills through up to 250 levels, buffing out your abilities along the way! Your total skill level will be displayed in chat and tablist to flex just how good you are at Skyblock! Some of the abilities include awesome buffs such as a chance to randomly dig up a Fertlizer Bomb whilst farming, or an increased chance of catching treasure whilst lava fishing.
Lava fishing works hand in hand with the brand new Skill System and Nether Island. Located in your nether island, you will find a lot of lava! You will find that this lava is very special (It is radioactive caused from the Power Generator)! Fishing in this lava will be an effective way to progress your Fishing Skill. If you're lucky you will catch some awesome treasures from those pesky radioactive lava fish.

Robots can be found on your Nether Island. Robots are unlocked by levelling up your Power Generator (which can be done by killing phantoms). This power generator is also responsible for keeping your robots fueled and running! Whilst your robots are running, they will mine for Robots Gems which can be used to purchase unique island upgrades (known as skill amplifiers)! To make the most out of your Skyblock experience, you will definitely want to invest in as many amplifiers as possible. Leveling up your skills is an important aspect of Skyblock, so purchasing amplifiers will be a sure certain way to make the most out of your time whilst grinding!

A lot of time has gone towards this Skyblock Reset. We really wanted to push ourselves to change this gamemode to keep everything feeling fresh and new once again (lets be honest - Skyblock has not undergone any 'major' changes in many seasons now). Alongside the above changes, players can expect to see many more quality of life and balancing changes (For example everyone will now receive access to a FREE 'Basic Harvest Hoe'). Voting has also been remade from the ground up, with the implementation of a 'Voting Villager' to more effectively reward players who help our server out. We know this season is going to be an awesome one, and we look forward to seeing you there! As always, Enjoy.

Notable Players
If you have ever played a game of Capture The Flag, you will understand how intense these games can get! Of course the main goal to win the game is to 'Capture The Flag' however there are many other aspects involved with a functioning CTF team. We felt it was time to give these players the recognition they deserved! At the end of every game, players will now be presented with a message in chat detailing all players whom deserve an honourable mention for that game. This message contains some fun stats such as 'Farthest Arrow Hit' 'Farthest Distance Travelled' and much more!

Overtime was a topic which was frequently brought up on our forums. There is no worse feeling than playing a 15 minute game, finally about to capture that flag then boom... The timer runs out and the game ends resulting in a loss. Overtime directly addresses this issue. Upon the game timer ending, if there is a player currently holding the flag, the game timer will be extended by 2 minutes. This overtime is designed to give the team one final chance at victory with that last minute capture! Be careful though, if you die holding the flag, the game will come to an end.
New Cosmetics
Of course, what is a revamp without some beautiful cosmetics! I am proud to inform the CTF community that we have added some custom cosmetics explicitly dedicated for Capture The Flag (custom flag designs)! Being on our new backend, Capture The Flag will now also take full advantage of all other cosmetics which came as a result of this revamp (Player Tags, Guardian Angels, Projectile Trails and much more)! With over 300 cosmetics released so far with this revamp, we are positive this will keep you busy for a long time trying to collect them all.

Something that our old Capture The Flag setup was lacking, was the amount of available statistics. For many years now, our Capture The Flag community has been requesting the addition of new statistics. With this revamp, we have aimed to add as many statistics as possible for the CTF community, leaving no room for regret as we move forwards! Some of these new statistics include the following: Highest Win Streak, Assists, Steals, Recoveries and more!
Quests & Achievements
If you have been keeping up to date with this Minigames revamp, you should know all about Quests and Achievements! Capture The Flag will bring forwards loads of new available quests which can be completed by players (either daily or weekly) to reward them with Experience and Tokens to spend at the Token Merchant. Achievements are fun objectives giving players a secondary task to work towards in Capture The Flag (either challenges or long term goals over their entire career). Make sure to check out all available Capture The Flag achievements inside our Minigame Lobby and see which ones you can achieve!

Another awesome advantage of Capture The Flag making its way over to our new backend! Spectating ongoing games has many benefits. Not only is it a great tool for staff to properly moderate minigames (finally), it is also a great tool for new players or friends to simply watch games without the stress of playing! Spectating ongoing games can be done through the Join NPC inside the Minigame Lobby (this will display all ongoing games). Alternatively, if you would to spectate your friend on our new minigames revamp, you can simply type '/spectate <player>' to be instantly teleported to their ongoing minigame.

It is no secret that Capture The Flag was in dire need for new maps. For many years now, we have had the same 12 maps in rotation. Naturally, for our very dedicated CTF community, these maps became stale and new ones were desperately needed. This massive Capture The Flag update brings forwards 12 brand new maps for players to explore (doubling our previous map count) bringing us to a total of 24 maps in rotation! We plan for this number to keep growing as we move forwards more with this minigames revamp (Keep them map submissions coming!)
Miscellaneous Changes
As you can see, many positive changes have been brought forwards with this long awaited revamp. Behind the scenes, Capture The Flag has been completely remade from the ground up. We have taken this opportunity to give everything a fresh new face (more in-theme with the rest of our network) alongside some necessary balancing changes. Some important changes which players can expect to see with this revamp are as follows: Strong Feet perk removed (all players now have no fall damage), Arrow Tank ability has been reworked (Thank you Zynnphony), Explosive Death ability has been removed and a brand new waiting lobby has been added! We hope you all enjoy this revamp, Enjoy.
